We organized a press event to announce the new cohort of startups in the Start it @CBC program for their one-year anniversary. Start it @CBC is the Walloon hub of Start it @KBC, the accelerator with the largest startup ecosystem in Belgium. We held the event in the beautiful building La Grand Poste in Liège, the home base of Start it @CBC.

The new startups were presented, as well as the milestones of one year of acceleration in Liège. The challenges and opportunities of the startup ecosystem in Wallonia were discussed in a panel discussion, as well as ambitions for the future.

In the first year, 22 startups participated in the program for a personalized trajectory, including 44 founders. In 12 months, they raised a total of 2 million euros, created 8 jobs, and 16 internships. This happened in diverse sectors where innovation is key. Furthermore, 70% of the projects selected by Start it @CBC work on at least one ESG criterion (environmental, social, or governance impact).
